I attended The Next Web event in a past life when I was working for a tech blog here in San Francisco. The one that I attended was in New York City and never having gone to a New Web event, I would have loved to have someone comb their always impressive speaker list to give me suggestions before I made my must-see talks hit list.
So to save you the time, TNW attendee, I have put together a list of the top speakers I would recommend seeing at their event in Amsterdam this coming May 18 & 19.

Okay, okay, I know what you are thinking, he is the CEO of our company so I have to put him on this list. Though, I would put him on this list even if I didn’t know and work with Chase here at CreativeLive. Chase has a way of naturally inspiring people with his message and makes you want to get up and take an active role in your own life to push yourself towards your goals. Plus, who doesn’t want some new insights on creativity? Check out the series I produced and that Chase directed and hosted, 30 Days of Genius.
Amber Case, Author, Calm Technology
How can you design technology that becomes a part of a user’s life and not a distraction from it? Amber Case talks about the concept of calm technology, a method for smoothly capturing a user’s attention only when necessary, while calmly remaining in the background most of the time. She covers what design products that work well, launch well, are easy to support, easy to use, and remain unobtrusive. Who doesn’t love the idea of technology not being a total distraction and nuisance!
Ben Hammersley, Futurist and writer WIRED
Wired Magazine is one of the staple publications that I always browse to see what is what in the world of tech and science. What is interesting about Ben is that he consults on cybercrime which can, will, and does affect all of us. Ben is the person to choose to be your indispensable guide to the brave new digital future.
Nir Eyal, Author, Hooked
Nir taught a class on CreativeLive about his book, Hooked: How To Build Habit-Forming Products. He also said in his book “Internet is, “a giant machine designed to give people what they want.” Hear from the man that is the go to person to learn about habit forming and building products. The M.I.T. Technology Review dubbed Nir Eyal, “The Prophet of Habit-Forming Technology.” Nir writes, consults, and teaches about the intersection of psychology, technology, and business.
Janneke Niessen, CIO, Improve Digital International B.V.
Janneke has published Project Prep, a novel for young girls in conjunction with an award-winning child book’s author. The goal of the project is to encourage young girls, inspiring them to pursue a career in technology and invest in an educational foundation focusing on math and computer science. What an inspiration for all of us!
