3 Ingredients for a Successful Engaging Video

Do you create video content for your business?

If not, it’s time to push yourself and get started! By 2017, video content is expected to be responsible for nearly 73% of all internet traffic.

If you’re already creating videos for your business, chances are, there are a few things you can be doing to maximize your efforts and ensure the content you’re creating is going to not only provide value, but build meaningful relationships with your potential customers.

There are over 100 hours of footage uploaded to YouTube every second. That’s a lot of competition and you need to stand out from the crowd.

Take YouTube marketing and branding expert, Becki Crosby aka Whippy Cake’s advice on creating the most engaging videos you’re capable of. Here are her 3 ingredients for a successful engaging video.

1. A Prize or Takeaway

What are your viewers getting out of your content? There needs to be a tangible reward – a lesson learned or new skill gained in exchange for spending their precious time watching your video content.

2. Emotional Connection

Find a way to build in an engaging, emotional aspect to your videos so people can connect with you. Smile at the camera, be personable, and speak like you’re having a genuine conversation.

3. Explicit Call-to-Action

Your goal of creating video content is to build your audience, grow your email list, drive traffic or revenue, or achieve another business-related goal. As long as you’re creating genuinely beneficial content, it’s perfectly ok (highly encouraged) to ask your viewers to take a specific action. Keep it simple and make it something they’ll be happy to do.
